TINTON FALLS — New homes are being sought for 425 birds rescued by animal welfare officials from a home in northern New Jersey.
The Associated Humane Societies has been caring for the birds since they were removed from a Belleville home in March.
They include canaries, parakeets, finches, parrots, cockatiels and conures. They will be given only to adoptive owners who can prove they are and able to care for them properly.
The Humane Societies also is seeking volunteers to help clean cages, feed and water the birds at its facility in Tinton Falls.
