Teflon heated to burning
Non Soy candles
Overheated cooking oil
Cooking bag fumes
Aerosol cleaners
Air Freshners
Scented cleaners
Pine-scented items
New Carpet fumes (formaldehyde)
Carpet powders and cleaners
Scented toilet paper or tissues (unscented are fine)
Leather protectant sprays
Wax potpourri (dry potpourri if eaten)
Glue guns
Fire place fumes from the flue or wood smoke
All Pesticide Sprays
Avacadoes
apple seeds (they contain Cyanide!)

that is totally cool list.  I like it.  Are gas stoves toxic to birds.?

I heat my house with Gas and cook on a gas stove. I have had birds in this house for going on 3 years. They are fine. But, if your pilot light burns out and you have a gas leak I would imagine this would harm your bird.

Whenever I cook my birds are no where near the kitchen. Overheating a cooking oil on accident can cause respitory problems.

My stove has an auto-ignition switch (which means it doesn't ahve a pilot light that stays lit.) So when I turn it on it turns on the gas and lights it for me.

yeah, if pilot lights get blown out the gas remains on and will kill our fids.  My hubby's cousin lost her finches that way.  :'(

That is so sad!  i am glad I don't have a gas stove!  just a gas furnace.

For the most part a gas stove is ok, you just have to be mindful of the pilot light.
