Ok~ I couldn't find this section the other day... I must have been having a momentary lapse in brain activity.

I will now post all the silly things that Pistachio does here....

Ok, so this morning Pistachio was woke up to the idea that it was time for a shower. I am going to make him a shower perch I just have to figure out how to get the suction cups to stay in the pvc pipe and also where to get the suction cups ( I am sure I could get them from the hardware store) ok off topic.  : : )

So I put P on the towel rack that is inside our shower. He perches there while I bathe and gets some of the water splatter on him. I am real careful that none of my soap gets on him as well. I also don't use aromatic or smelly good soaps (I can't stand them myself). So no toxins!  :)

Well, I don't think he likes this idea just yet.... But once I am finished bathing I then place him oon a lower corner shelf that I got just for him. He likes to sit there and fluff his feathers, and preen his tail while I let the water massage my back.  :bird:

So once I got out of the shower, I brought in his portable play gym. Set him up with some fresh veggies, a little finch seed and some water. So while I was blow drying my hair and getting all pretty he sat there and preened himself, watched me with such curiousity and nibbled at his food. I still don't think he touched the veggies but that is ok, it will take time.

Then while I was getting dressed (bamboo could see me and she started wolf whistling at me) Pistachio perked up, this was the 1st time he has heard the other birds in the house. Well, he started chattering and carrying on.... I swear I heard him try to say "Hi"... But I am sure it was just my imagination.  :-*

Ok, so after I was dressed and had on my Pistachio sweat shirt (an article of clothing that he can hang out on and go poopy on) He snuggled in while I prepared the dogs breakfast and my lunch. He was preening my hair and started doing that little quaker chatter at me. Then I asked for a "kiss, kiss" and I think he is trying to say that too, he gave me a kiss. He hasn't gotten it, but he is definately becomeing more chatty.  :-*

So anyway, not much going on there but I thought I would update you guys on his progress and the goings on around the house.

Well I little update on Pistachio.

Today he spent about 2 hours out of his cage letting me rub his neck and chest. He lifted his wings for me and let me rub under them as well. He is molting and really enjoys the scratches! Then he spent another hour sitting with my husband letting him do the same thing. This was so

I think he is trying to say a few words but just doesn't have it yet. We will see. He is mimicing me when I ask him for a kiss and make kissy noises. That is pretty cute.

Also, on a topic that is of great importance, He is eating pumpkin seeds, oats, red millet, peanuts and some of the pellets. I am soo excited. I have removed all sunflower seeds and safflower seeds from his food dish and he is still eating. YEAH, a small victory!  :grat:

Now the harder part, veggies. Right now he doesn't like the smell of them, but he will come around I know it.

So that is what is going on right now with Pistachio.

Hey, it is a start.  You have to begin somewhere.  Why don't you try dipping the veggies in like peach juice, and then try and get him to eat them.  That is what we do to babies.

Last night we were watch American Football (Eagles vs Giants) GO EAGLES!!! Well my husband is a Giants fan (poor soul) and so it was a heated game for us last night.  Undecided Angry Huh

Needless to say, LOTS OF BEER, shots for scoreing and all that jazz. Well, after we would get all hype and yell "whoo hoo, TOUCH DOWN, FUMBLE" or whatever else (that can't be mentioned here Huh ) Little Pistachio would have his own hooting and hollering session. It was soooo funny.  Kiss

He would stand tall on his perch, sometimes lift his wings, and just start yelling.  lol We laughed and had a good time with that. Then after the game was over and all was quite again, he sat there and was chattering away, I think he is practicing a few words. It will be interesting to see what he picked up from last nights game (good thing we didn't have him through the whole football season! lol )
